What does an insurance-backed guarantee mean?

Many builders offer workmanship guarantees, but what happens if the company stops trading? An insurance-backed guarantee (IBG) protects you even if we're no longer in business.

For qualifying structural and waterproofing works, we provide IBG through an independent insurer. This means:

Continued cover: The guarantee remains valid for the full term (typically 10 years) regardless of our trading status
Transferable: If you sell your property, the guarantee transfers to the new owner at no extra cost
Independent claims: Claims are handled by the insurer, not dependent on our availability
Mortgage-acceptable: Many mortgage lenders and solicitors specifically require IBG for structural works

Note: Not all works qualify for IBG. Your quotation will clearly state if insurance-backed guarantee is included.
